Residential school and Children’s Home for Children Young People 8-19

Cotswold Chine School, part of Novalis Trust, is a progressive charity working with children with neurodevelopmental difficulties many of whom have had Adverse Childhood Experiences. Due to growth and development the school are looking to recruit a dynamic and committed House Manager, interested in working in a diverse team implementing current best practice models in residential care.

Cotswold Chine School is set in the beautiful tranquil Cotswold countryside and comprises of a school and 9 residences for up to 60 children and young people. The Trust offers outstanding professional development opportunities and excellent staff support.

As part of our energetic Care Team you will have the opportunity to support children and young people to make the most out of their lives, reach their potential and feel at home and safe in their community.

As the House Manager you would have responsibility for overseeing one of the residential homes managing the individual care needs of the children and young people, as well as managing a multidisciplinary house team. You would also have responsibility for overseeing an aspect of care management across all homes as well as undertaking Duty Manager responsibilities.

Clinical & Therapy Assistants at Novalis Trust

We are looking for Clinical & Therapy Assistants to work as part of a well established, multi-disciplinary therapy team. The role will involve supporting young people on an individual basis and in groups. They will support within the different settings across the charity, such as within the education, therapy and residential care settings.

The role would ideally suit a psychology degree graduate or health and social care sciences graduate.

Hours of work: Based on a two-week rota, you will work an average of 40 hours per week either days/evenings between the hours of 9am and 8.30pm with two weekend days each month (Saturday/Sunday 9am to 6.30pm)

Holidays: 28 days inclusive of bank holidays per annum

Salary: £21,000.00 /year

Deputy Youth Support Manager at Cotswold Chine School

The role of the Youth Support Team at Cotswold Chine School involves delivering tailored support to young people with complex emotional needs, aged 7-19 years. In this role, you will promote and encourage young people’s engagement in recreational activities.

As a Deputy Youth Support Manager, you will be taking responsibility for coordinating consultation process for young people to enable them to access their hobbies and interests, and have oversight of the team’s role in providing consistent, reliable activities. You should also be able to take an active leading role in managing and facilitating activities, hold supervision meetings, and offer guidance on practice development for youth support workers to achieve all aspects of their job description with support from Youth Support Services Manager.

Roofer – Novalis Trust

Providing support across all sites, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated full time Roofer to support the Trust’s Maintenance Team.

As a vital member of the team you will take pride in the development and maintenance of our properties and be able to demonstrate some trade skills in addition to your primary trade.

Roofer responsibilities: We are looking for a skilled roofer, experienced in a variety of roof coverings including natural stone. Additional skills in carpentry or any other trades are advantageous.

Roofer requirements:  Strong practical skills and first-hand knowledge of pitched roof covering & replacement, Velux window installation, timber fascia and soffit replacement, rainwater goods, carpentry, and additional skills in flat roofing would be advantageous

  • Ability to diagnose, undertake and complete pitched roof covering repair & replacement installations to industry standards
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

We would like someone with an interest in learning new skills on the job. A full driving licence would be an advantage.

Cotswold Chine School, in Box, nr Stroud offers a unique, caring environment that is both therapeutic and educational for young people aged 7-19 who live within our house groups. The Trust supports young people who in some cases have experienced childhood trauma and adversity and who as a result have complex needs.

Every Key Worker works a two week fixed rota, which includes two overnight shifts each week. There is an expectation that Key Workers work every weekend, which is a Saturday one week and a Sunday the following week. On average, Key Workers will have three/four days off per week (generally 2 weekdays and 1 day each weekend) in addition to some weekday mornings.

The post would suit those interested in developing a career in care whilst also acquiring and developing skills and experience. Staff are offered regular professional supervision and access to a comprehensive training programme including QCF3, and other training to help support the role.

Example of earnings (pre-QCF3): £2,000 average per month before tax, depending upon number of shifts worked. Higher rates of pay apply with QCF3.
