Cook in Main Kitchen Team

The school offers a unique, caring environment that is both therapeutic and educational for young people aged 7-19 years, who live in one of seven houses on or near the main school site. The Trust supports young people, who in some cases have experienced childhood trauma and adversity and who as a result have complex needs.

Working as part of a small team in the main kitchen, duties will include preparing and cooking meals from fresh produce for approximately 70 – 80 young people , staff, and customers of the Halfway Cafe,  taking into account any special dietary needs, cleaning and beverage related duties.

The successful candidate should be self-motivated with the ability to work flexibly within the domestic team, ensuring the main kitchen and eating areas are kept clean whilst maintaining a warm and relaxed environment.

Cook at Cotswold Chine School

A permanent vacancy exists for a cook at Cotswold Chine School in Box, near Stroud. The school offers a caring environment that is both therapeutic and educational for young people who in some cases have experienced childhood trauma and adversity and who as a result have complex needs.

The cook will be based in one of the houses providing a homely and caring environment for the young people. Duties include following a set menu using fresh ingredients, preparing and cooking meals for approximately 14 people , taking into account any special dietary needs, and where possible ensuring personal preferences are met with an emphasis on good presentation.

The successful candidate should be self motivated with the ability to work flexibly within the Domestic Team, ensuring house group kitchens are kept clean whilst maintaining a warm and homely environment.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday -9am to 2:30pm – 39 weeks per annum

Cleaner at Paradise House

Paradise House is a beautiful Residential Home (on the main bus route) set in the Painswick Valley, for adults with learning disabilities aged 18-65 who live within the four homes. The cleaner will be based in one of the houses providing a homely and caring environment for adults with learning disabilities. The successful candidate will have an active role in ensuring the house is kept clean and tidy whilst maintaining the homely environment and should be self motivated with the ability to work flexibly within the Domestic Team.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 9am to 2:30pm

52 weeks per annum

Holidays: 28 days paid holiday per annum (pro rata as a part time role)

Full Time Care Worker for Paradise House

Paradise House is a beautiful Residential Home (on the main bus route), set in the Painswick Valley caring for adults with learning disabilities aged 18-65 who live within 4 house groups.

Every Care Worker works a two week fixed rota, which includes three overnight shifts one week and two the following week. There is an expectation that carers work every weekend, which is a Saturday on one week and a Sunday the following week. On average, care workers will have three days off per week (generally 2 weekdays and 1 day each weekend), in addition to some weekday mornings.

The post would suit those interested in developing a career in care whilst also acquiring and developing skills and experience. Staff are offered regular professional supervision and access to a comprehensive training programme including QCF3, and other training to help support the role.

Example of earnings (pre-QCF3): up to £2,000 average per month, depending upon number of shifts worked. Higher rates of pay apply with QCF3.

Cafe Supervisor

Assisting in running café

A permanent vacancy exists for a Supervisor, supporting all aspects of the Halfway House Café and work experience centre. Duties to include:-

Preparing food, drinks and cake baking; Assisting as needed with all operational aspects of running the café; Supporting and working with the work experience students; maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment; taking responsibility for the running of the café in the absence of Senior Supervisors.

Youth Support Worker

Cotswold Chine School, Box, Nr Stroud Gloucestershire GL6 9AG

As a Youth Support Worker at Cotswold Chine School, you will work with young people who have complex needs aged between 7-19 years and support and engage in activities to help them develop socially.

This is a new initiative to support young people in engaging with our waking day curriculum. Experience of working with young people is essential.

We are looking for people with excellent communication and listening skills, you will be motivated and organised, be flexible, adaptable in your approach, and able to support the lead Youth Worker in creatively planning timetables/activities effectively.

Salary: £21,000 pa

Hours of work: Based on a two – week rota, you will work an average of 40 hours per week either days/evenings between the hours of 9am-9pm with two weekend days each month.

Full Time Installation Engineer

Novalis Trust offers a unique, caring and nurturing environment that is both therapeutic and educational for young people and adults set in beautiful surroundings at Cotswold Chine School (Minchinhampton) and Paradise House (Painswick), with the Head Office based in Ebley, Stroud.  The role would be providing support across all sites.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be working alongside a Qualified Electrician laying power cables and installing data cables.  Providing support for a variety of electrical installation activities.   Being responsible for installation and fitting of ICT and telecoms equipment, including CCTV cameras and door access control systems including Paxton.

The successful Installation Engineer will have:

  • A full drivers licence
  • Experience of data cabling, including patching, CAT5/6 wiring
  • Experience of CCTV systems and door access control systems
  • Experience of running and pulling power cables
  • Knowledge of building regulations
  • Some flexibility for some out of hours work
  • Any qualifications in these areas are beneficial

Responsibilities of the Installation Engineer include:

  • Managing your own workload including documentation and meeting deadlines, whilst working well under pressure, recognising the priority of the individual issues in the wider context of IT and Maintenance Departments.
  • Being mindful of the caring environment and keeping it safe for client groups, staff and visitors

Hours:  Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

Holiday: 30 days per annum

Salary: £20,000 to £25,000 – Dependent upon qualifications and/or experience
