Health & Wellbeing Assistant for Paradise House

Full time Permanent Position

Paradise House is a beautiful Residential Home (on the main bus route), set in the Painswick Valley caring for adults with learning disabilities aged 18-65 who live within 4 house groups.

We are looking for a Health & Wellbeing Assistant to work as part of a well-established, multi-disciplinary therapy team.  The role will involve supporting residents on an individual basis and in groups working closely with the management team in supporting with a health and wellbeing timetable for adults at Paradise House.  Also to facilitate residents attending activity sessions and support the wellbeing of individual residents and small group therapeutic sessions. 

The role would ideally suit a psychology degree graduate or health & social care and sciences graduate or someone who has experience of working with adults with a learning disability.

Example of earnings (pre QCF): up to average £1,500 per month, higher rates will apply if have QCF3 or an equivalent qualification.

Hours of work: Based on a two week rota you will work an average of 40 hours per week either days/evenings between the hours of 9am to 8.30pm with one weekend day per fortnight.

Holidays: Hours equate to 28 days (incl of bank holidays) per annum

Activities Assistant for Paradise House

Full Time Permanent Position

Paradise House is a beautiful Residential Home (on the main bus route), set in the Painswick Valley caring for adults with learning disabilities aged 18-65 who live within 4 house groups.

As an activities assistant you would be helping to support and organise activities for adults with learning disabilities aged 18-65 who live within the four homes.

The role is to support residents in engaging with activities in the day, evening and at weekends.  We are looking for people with excellent communication and listening skills, who are well motivated and organised, flexible, adaptable in their approach and able to support the management team in creatively planning timetables for activities effectively.

Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is preferable but not essential.

Example of earnings (pre QCF): up to average £1,780 per month, higher rates will apply if have QCF3 or an equivalent qualification.

Hours of work: Based on a two week rota you will work an average of 49 hours per week which will be either days or evenings between the hours of 8.30am – 9.30pm and with one sleep in a week and one weekend day every other weekend.

Holidays: Hours equate to 28 days (incl of bank holidays) per annum

Cleaner at Paradise House

Paradise House is a beautiful Residential Home (on the main bus route) set in the Painswick Valley, for adults with learning disabilities aged 18-65 who live within the four homes. The cleaner will be based in one of the houses providing a homely and caring environment for adults with learning disabilities. The successful candidate will have an active role in ensuring the house is kept clean and tidy whilst maintaining the homely environment and should be self motivated with the ability to work flexibly within the Domestic Team.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 9am to 2:30pm

52 weeks per annum

Holidays: 28 days paid holiday per annum (pro rata as a part time role)

Full Time Key Worker required for Cotswold Chine School

Cotswold Chine School, in Box, nr Stroud offers a unique, caring environment that is both therapeutic and educational for young people aged 7-19 who live within our house groups. The Trust supports young people who in some cases have experienced childhood trauma and adversity and who as a result have complex needs.

Every Key Worker works a two week fixed rota, which includes two overnight shifts each week. There is an expectation that Key Workers work every weekend, which is a Saturday one week and a Sunday the following week. On average, Key Workers will have three/four days off per week (generally 2 weekdays and 1 day each weekend) in addition to some weekday mornings.

The post would suit those interested in developing a career in care whilst also acquiring and developing skills and experience. Staff are offered regular professional supervision and access to a comprehensive training programme including QCF3, and other training to help support the role.

Example of earnings (pre-QCF3): £2,000 average per month before tax, depending upon number of shifts worked. Higher rates of pay apply with QCF3.
