Care Worker at Paradise House

Paradise House is a beautiful Residential Home (on the main bus route) set in the Painswick Valley, for adults with learning disabilities aged 18-65 who live within the four homes.

Starting Salary: Every care worker works a two week fixed rota includes 4 overnight shifts, working two each week. There is an expectation that carers will work every weekend, one week being a Saturday and the following being a Sunday. On average each care worker will have 3 days off per week in addition to some weekday mornings.  Example of earnings (pre RQF3) £2,000 average per month, dependant on the number of shifts worked.  Higher rates of pay apply with RQF3.

Hours of Work: The key worker role involves working a two week fixed rota, which is on average 40 hours per week. This will include working every other weekend. Key workers have the opportunity to pick up additional hours if available.

Cook at Paradise House

The cook will be based in one of the houses providing a homely and caring environment for adults with learning disabilities.  Duties include following a set menu using fresh vegetables, preparing and cooking meals for approximately 14 people whilst taking into account any special dietary need.  The successful candidate should be self-motivated with the ability to work flexibly within the domestic team, ensuring the home kitchen is kept clean whilst maintaining a warm and homely environment.

Starting Salary: to be confirmed depending on experience

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am – 2.30pm

Key Worker at William Morris College

William Morris is nestled between the banks of the River Frome and the Stroud Water Canal on the edge of Eastington and offers a unique caring environment that is both therapeutic and educational for young adults who live within our residential homes.

The post would suit those interested in  developing a career in care whilst also acquiring and developing skills and experience.  Staff are offered professional supervision and access to a comprehensive training programme including RQF3 and other training to support the role. 

Starting Salary: Example of earnings (pre RQF3) £18,300pa average for year before tax.  Higher rates of pay apply with RQF3.

The role is based in the classrooms and educational spaces at William Morris College.

Hours of Work: 39 weeks per year (term time). Monday to Friday – 7am to 9am or 5pm – 7pm.

Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, driven and passionate HCPC registered Occupational Therapist to join a well-established multi-disciplinary team, based at Cotswold Chine School. There is an established clinical therapy team at Novalis Trust which consists of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers and Psychotherapists. Cotswold Chine School has recently undergone an Ofsted Inspection in February 2019 and was awarded outstanding in all areas of the report.

The Trust provides care and education for children and young people with special educational needs and therapeutic residential care for adults with learning disabilities. The role will involve providing integrated Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention working within both education and residential settings.

A strong focus will be on implementing sensory regulation strategies working within a trauma informed and attachment focused model of approach. This post will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills whilst being supported through working in an established team of experienced therapists. There is a strong emphasis towards continuing professional development and regular opportunities for clinical supervision with experienced clinicians at the trust. Newly qualified Occupational Therapists are welcome to apply.

Youth Support Worker at Cotswold Chine School

As a Youth Support Worker you will work with young people who have complex needs aged between 7-19 years and support and engage in activities to help them develop socially.

This is a recent initiative to support young people in engaging with our waking day curriculum. Experience of working with young people is essential.

We are looking for people with excellent communication and listening skills. You will be motivated and organised, be flexible, adaptable in your approach, and able to support the lead Youth Worker in creatively planning timetables/activities effectively.

Salary: £21,000 per annum

Hours of Work: Based on a two week rota you will work an average of 40 hours per week either days/evenings between the hours of 9am to 9pm with two weekend days each month.

Holidays: 28 days per year (incl of Bank Holidays)

Full Time Key Worker required for Cotswold Chine School

Cotswold Chine School, in Box, nr Stroud offers a unique, caring environment that is both therapeutic and educational for young people aged 7-19 who live within our house groups. The Trust supports young people who in some cases have experienced childhood trauma and adversity and who as a result have complex needs.

Every Key Worker works a two week fixed rota, which includes two overnight shifts each week. There is an expectation that Key Workers work every weekend, which is a Saturday one week and a Sunday the following week. On average, Key Workers will have three/four days off per week (generally 2 weekdays and 1 day each weekend) in addition to some weekday mornings.
